Bowling Game

The game was an instant hit with about 30,000 people playing the game each week and helping contribute money to different charitable organizations. Users frequently came back to the game to enjoy either individual play or competitive play in tournaments.

Challenge

Charitable organizations are constantly looking for ways to raise money for their causes and also incentivize the giver by allowing them be an integral part of the process. The client approached Social Cubix with a unique concept of charity donations through things people enjoy doing anyway like playing games. We decided to design and develop a bowling game that people played in competitions and funneled the earnings to charity organizations.

Solution

We developed a bowling game that is attractive and simple to play. Users play all the initial rounds free of charge, and they play the semi finals and finals for $1 that goes to charity. With the tournament style play, users can enter into existing tournaments and invite their friends from Facebook to participate in the tournament. Each tournament had a pot of social coins as the prize, which will go to the charity of the user’s choice. The game was developed to simulate real life bowling with ball spins and techniques normally used at bowling lanes implemented for a more enjoyable experience. Social Cubix also developed a robust backend that simplified the complications that could arise from user payments and accounting by providing detailed statistics and reports.
