Challenge:

For all you Puzzle fanatics out there, this one is for you. Our client is a puzzle enthusiast who has an interesting puzzle idea but didn’t know how to implement it online, especially on Facebook. The puzzle used visual cues of colors and orientation to fix a cube. Think of Rubiks cube in 2D. Social Cubix was tasked with creating the game and also becoming masters of it by implementing the different scenarios.

Solution:

We engaged the client in a discovery phase that enabled us to gather ideas on how the puzzle will function at it’s core while retaining design uniqueness. With design led programming, we implemented the puzzle game on Facebook while programming the algorithm that determined the leveling of the game. With 34 Puzzle, users are required to match colors of parts of a 2D square making sure that adjacent colors match in the fewest moves they can muster. Players are rewarded by the number of moves they use to complete the game as well as the time it took them to make those moves.

Results:

A truly addictive game, 34 Puzzle hit the ground running. Perfect for those that like mental exercise while still enjoying a good puzzle with friends.
